Legs & Co. - Lonely Together

Here's a heartwrenching performance: Legs & Co. get all moody & sad, dancing to Barry Manilow's Lonely Together on Top of the Pops. I'm certainly mellowing out in my old age: back when this was a hit, I hated Marry Banilow and all his fellow Middle-of-the-Road singer-songwriters, with all the righteous cool fire of Youth. These days, while I can't quite say I love the stuff, I can at least appreciate the artistry.

Update: I'd assumed that Barry himself wrote this song: but Carl has pointed out that Kenny Nolan wrote it. A prolific hit writer of the seventies, Kenny also wrote Labelle's Lady Marmalade, and Jim Gilstrap's Swing Your Daddy which Pan's People danced to. Thanks, Carl!

Cool stuff YMG, this is a slightly better copy than the one you posted of this routine on 29/11/10.

Thanks for reminding me, Ryan: I should have mentioned that it was an upgrade.

Thanks very much YMG,BM was not a
fave artist of mine, his music never stirred my giblets, but all
these years later somthing strange
has happened,i like this, and for a change, the song seems more imporant than the girls. It tells
how in 1977 i met a girl who first
noticed me 10 years before,at the age of twelve, when i caused her pony to bolt, nearly dumping her on her butt.As bearers of broken hearts,we met and married, and today
she is the mother of my family.
YES, i like this one a lot,thankyou

I agree SueFan, one of the few Manilow ditties I like and the ladies are emotive and truly beautiful in this. Thanks everyone.
