Gojos - Reflections

Discussion board regular Jez has pointed out that we don't have any examples featuring The Gojos on this blog. He points out that as "the pioneers of dance on TOTP" they deserves some recognition.

Quite right Jez: my only problem is that only one single Gojos Top of the Pops performance seems to have survived the Philistine Tape Wipers of the sixties: dancing to Diana Ross & the Supremes' Reflections on the 1967 Boxing Day Special show.

So if you've watched any documentaries or clip shows, you've probably seen this before. But in the interests of fair representation, here it is.

Our friends over at panspeople.com havea lots more information about the Gojos, including some non-totp clips they've unearthed.

Thanks for posting YMG and thanks for suggesting Jez. A true classic and thank the Gods that we have a least one GoJo's dance on TOTP. How energetic these ladies seem and they look darn good too.

Yes indeed, this well deserves a spot on OFTD. The audience make an interesting study as well.

This one is SO typical of those
years, and a joy to see and hear again. The studio girls are so 60s,
[must look cool, must look cool] but
in that hot summer, the school girls wore their skirts REALLY short, and with wonderful long hair, heels, makeup and shere tights looked just like the GoJo's, FANTASTIC.Wonderful to
look back and be able to say ,i was part of this ,and lived it.
The pictures may be in black and white, but there was NOTHING mono-
chrome about those days at all.
Well posted YMG,and many thanks.
