Legs & Co - Swords of a Thousand Men

Here's another late-period Legs & Co Clip clip, where they're reduced to backing dancer status, in this case supporting Ten Pole Tudor's Swords of a Thousand Men.

Update: Thanks to ASmK9412 for the YouTube repost.

Quite a nice little song and would have made for a great provocative routine. Unfortunately, given the bent of the cameraman, we get to see very little of it. Am I correct in thinking this was the 14/5 show, shortened on account of the Cup Final replay?

Hi Suefan, my information says you are correct 14/5/81. Not a fan of the group, song ,routine or this period in TOTP, in fact the whole thing was horrible viewing. Its my turn to sound grumpy im affraid !

For me this is real missed opportunity as the outfits are red hot and the dancing looks electric but so few glimpses are granted us as you say SueFan. Paradise Lost was the story in 1981

Yes indeed. At least on some of those shows where the girls did an extra bit as back-up they also appeared as the main feature at some point in proceedings.

by gum ryan didnt you sound a happy little chappy on friday ,come on man get a grip on yourself ,i think legs did a great job with this song and i used to have this single myself in my record collection

I couldnt disagree with you more Jez. You say Legs did a great job in this, well you could have replaced them with audience girls for this and i dont think we would have noticed. No choreography, no real thought, just 5 girls at the disco. 1981 the year music died, especially with trash like this. Ed Tudorpole great at the crystal maze, rubbish on top of the pops. I just cant get excited over this dancing about with average joe groups.

Song is total crap, TOTP were clearly losing the plot by this time. The one ace act they had they buried in the background, the girls deserved MUCH better because they were REAL class.
