Pan's People - A Little Bit of Love

Here's a poor-quality clip of Pan's People, dancing to Free's A Little Bit of Love on Top of the Pops in 1972. Sorry for the low quality, but since the BBC have lost or wiped the original, I doubt we'll get a better version. Of course I'll be delighted if anyone can prove me wrong.

Legs & Co. - I Ain't Gonna Stand For It

Legs & Co. on TOTP, dancing to I Ain't Gonna Stand For It. Those outfits? I don't know: multi-coloured mountaineering wetsuits. With leg warmers.

Legs & Co. - Jungle Rock (Christmas)

It's turning into Christmas replay month here on OFTDs: now we have legs & Co dancing to Hank Mizell's masterpiece, where a mere few month before, Pan's People had done the same.

Everything has changed: where PP wore white-hunter khaki and carried blunderbuses, L&C are taking the Jungle clichés as far as they can without actual putting on the full Al Jolson. Cannibalism! But hey it's only ironic: and it's only Charisma Vacuum Tony Blackburn in the cooking put, not some, like, real human being.

A entirely different aging batch of animal costumes here, compared to which the PP routine animal outfits look positively Kubrickian.

Legs & Co - Ring My Bell (Christmas)

Another Christmas comparison: I've already posted a clip of Legs & Co. dancing to this Anita Ward song here a while ago.

Here's a different routine, from the 1979 TOTP Christmas Special: this time, instead of the strange "morris-dancing swim-team" costumes they wore in the previous clip, they're wearing ...even stranger outfits. I've no idea what they're meant to be. Tribble Hunters?

Ruby Flipper Versus Legs & Co.

Here's an interesting comparison: first, Ruby Flipper dancing to Wings "Let Em In" 19 August 1976. Then, by the time the Boxing Day special rolled around, the flipsters had been revamped into Legs & Co. Macca and chums were still unavailable, so the new dance troup had to do a fairly similar routine.

First, the Flip:

Now, those Legs:
